Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: An Ongoing Progress

FOR GREATER HEIGHTS, EVERY DAY IS EARTH DAY!
We take part in the Trash to Cashback Program by the Quezon City Government!
For the past eleven months, Greater Heights has been actively participating in the environmental protection and preservation initiatives of the local government called the “Trash to Cashback Program.” This eco-action aims to reduce plastic waste by handing over single-use plastics (shampoo sachets, coffee packs, online shopping plastic packages), PET bottles, and metal papers to designated QC barangay locations.
Quezon City Citizens (QCitizens) participating in this program are rewarded with "Environmental Points" (EP), which can be used for paying bills and groceries! Strategic and helpful, isn’t it?
After witnessing the worsening plastic and garbage problem in the country and understanding its harmful effects to our health and environment, we chose to rise to the occasion. We join the goal of our beloved city towards a greener metro by accepting the challenge to segregate plastic waste in our respective houses!
Our Sanitation Focal Person, Mr. Isaac Casinillo, reviewed the proper way of categorizing and sorting waste materials. He schedules afternoon sessions with the church to accomplish the waste segregation.
Although we view the task tedious–often forgetting and finding it a hassle to clean, dry, and set aside materials for segregation–it is with united hearts that we pledge to demonstrate to the community that we need to do proactive and active actions to care for and love our environment!
This advocacy needs action! Our Mother Earth needs justice!
THIS IS OUR GOD-GIVEN ENVIRONMENT. THIS IS OUR INHERITANCE. WE CHAMPION TO PROTECT AND PRESERVE NATURE WITH SOLID STEPS!
